Glenmorgan is a tea estate around 24 km from Ooty. If you get a direct bus from the Ooty bus stand, the fare is only Rs. 19. I missed the direct bus and took a bus heading for Gudalur. I had to get off on the highway and walk to the estate, which was quite relaxing as it was mostly downhill.
Glimpses of the Glenmorgan Reservoir can be seen on the left side of the road before you reach the main gate of the estate, but there is no clear road leading towards it.
The main road leads to the Glenmorgan Dam which is open to tourists, but the area is under the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, so people are not allowed to venture further than one side of the dam.
There is a range of hills with cool peaks opposite the Glenmorgan bus stop, but I don't know if people are allowed there.
I think the drive there is more scenic than the dam itself, but if you are able to find some way to the reservoir that would be worth checking out. Just avoid walking down paths shaded by trees and near water as you will most likely find leeches during the monsoon.

I heard it's a beautiful place to visit. Nice weather there. So when you go there make some queries. Narrow roads. No traffic. Some locals there. 1 or 2 tea shops only there.
The climate in GlenMorgan is Awesome, View from the top Will be Awesome
The place is Well maintained, way till the Dam is Not Properly Laid
Although its Summer Season it is Very Cold and Humid
Must place to visit In Ooty than other Boring Places

Glen Morgan is one of the best tourist spot in Ooty. It was not much familiar with the tourists, but this place is awesome. You can spend some hours in Dam, Power House, Tea Estate, Trekking and more.
It is located 25 kms away from Ooty main city, need to drive towards pykara and 10 kms off road drive. Finally you will reach TNEB check post and you can find this Dam.
If you want to visit the Power station, you should get permission from EB department. Otherwise you can enjoy the beautiful view of dam, mountain, tea estate, adventure trekking and more.
Very nice place. Entry is restricted for public and will do with Prior permission from officials.

This place was long in my list to visit and we visited it finally. Silent and peaceful village which is just 10-15kms from Gudallur-Ooty main road. This dam and reservoir is near to famous Glen Morgan Tea estate. Road is in perfect condition, less crowded and scenic places etc are the attractions of this place. Tourists can travel upto the Police checkpost which is 2 kms from the Glen Morgan dam.
Best place to visit morethan travel experience is the best one.

Located at the elevation of 2200 meter famous for high altitude world famous tea estate glenmorgan planted by British it is a protected area there is a dam and TNEB power house name Singara people can visit only with the prior permission of higher authorities of TNEB .
Glenmorgan is a village located at a distance of 25 kilometers from Ooty. This place is known for its tea estates which includes one of the oldest tea estates in the region
One of the attractions here is a 3-kilometre rope way from a power house in Singara to Glenmorgan.The ropeway has an inclination of nearly 40° for 300 metres near a stretch called the German Point making the ascent and descent through it difficult.
For the purpose of accommodating Electricity Board officials and tourists, rest houses are available at both ends of the ropeway.
